3R Model Handbook
Developed within the 3R Project, this handbook provides a practical, accessible, and inspiring guide to introducing the zero waste approach into everyday life. Based on the principles established by the Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA), it demonstrates how individuals and communities can reduce waste generation, protect the environment, and manage resources responsibly through practical everyday actions and sustainable community practices.

The handbook is built around the 3R Model, which consists of three key principles:
- Reduce: Make conscious purchasing decisions, avoid unnecessary products, and prevent waste generation at its source.
- Reuse: Extend the lifespan of products through repair, creative repurposing, donation, and exchange opportunities.
- Recycle: Learn the principles of responsible waste management, recognise truly recyclable materials, and prioritise packaging-free and reusable alternatives whenever possible.
The handbook provides practical examples, useful tips, and easy-to-follow guidance to help individuals, organisations, and communities make zero waste not just an aspiration but a realistic and achievable lifestyle. It encourages a shift in mindset while demonstrating how the 3R Model can generate not only environmental benefits but also economic and social value.
