IKIGAI55 – Capacity Building on Sustainable and Motivational Training Design Enhanced by Smart Technologies for Senior Citizens

The IKIGAI55 project aims to promote active and healthy ageing while helping to bridge the digital divide between generations. The project is based on the recognition that Europe’s ageing population requires innovative approaches that encourage older adults to remain physically active, socially engaged, and digitally empowered.
The project is implemented between 1 December 2023 and 30 November 2025 under Greek coordination and within an international partnership. The consortium brings together organisations from Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, and Hungary, including Trebag Ltd.
Throughout the project, a range of innovative training and motivational tools are being developed, including trainer handbooks, intelligent sports programmes, assessment systems, and an online learning platform. These resources are designed to help educators and trainers deliver engaging, technology-supported learning experiences tailored to the needs of older adults.
In the long term, the project contributes to promoting active ageing, improving digital skills, and strengthening social inclusion, enabling older people to lead healthier, more independent, and more connected lives.
