Development of Green Skills for Better Employability (DEGREBE)

The Development of Green Skills for Better Employability (DEGREBE) Erasmus+ project aimed to enhance the employability of young agricultural professionals and students by developing green skills and transversal competences. The project was based on the recognition that climate change and sustainability are becoming increasingly important drivers of the labour market, requiring future professionals to acquire new knowledge and competencies.
The project was implemented between 1 December 2021 and 31 May 2024 under Hungarian coordination, led by Trebag Ltd., within an international partnership. The consortium brought together organisations from Czechia, Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, and Hungary.
The project focused on developing a comprehensive digital educational package that supports learning in sustainable agriculture while promoting the acquisition of green skills. As part of the project, the partnership created educational resources, online quizzes, interactive storylines, and a digital educational game called Avocado Boy, which introduces sustainability concepts through an engaging, gamified learning experience.
The project also produced a detailed Trainer’s Guide that supports the application of gamification in education. In the long term, the project’s outputs contribute to strengthening environmental awareness, advancing digital education, and improving the employability and adaptability of young professionals in an increasingly sustainability-oriented labour market.
