The IT for Interconnection of Social, Economic and Environmental Aspects in Agribusiness (ITFARM) Erasmus+ project aimed to promote the digital transformation of agriculture by supporting farmers, agricultural businesses, and professionals in adopting innovative digital technologies. Through the integration of precision farming and information technologies, the project contributed to the development of a more sustainable, efficient, and competitive agricultural sector.

The project was implemented between 1 January 2022 and 30 June 2024 under Czech coordination, involving partners from seven European countries. The consortium brought together universities and organisations from Czechia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Ireland, Italy, Greece, and Hungary, including Trebag Ltd.

The project began with comprehensive research and a needs analysis, which revealed a relatively low level of awareness and adoption of digital technologies among agricultural stakeholders. Based on these findings, the partnership developed a modular training programme covering the key aspects of precision agriculture, including Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, sensors, drone applications, data management, and automated farming systems.

The learning materials are available at different levels of complexity and are supported by case studies, instructional videos, and practical examples to facilitate effective learning. The project also developed an open-access online learning platform, providing broad access to the training materials and enabling their practical application by learners across Europe.

The ITFARM project contributes to strengthening digital competences in agriculture, fostering innovation, and promoting the wider adoption of sustainable and technology-driven farming practices.
