Citizens for Energy Transition (C4ET)

  • Project number:
    2015-1-FR01-KA204-015349
  • Program: Erasmus+
  • Period: 2015-2018
  • Coordinator: France

The Citizens for Energy Transition (C4ET) Erasmus+ project aimed to increase citizens’ participation in Europe’s energy transition while promoting knowledge and awareness of sustainable energy. The project focused on energy efficiencyrenewable energy sources, and climate action, with particular emphasis on the role of adult education in supporting the transition towards a more sustainable future.

The project was implemented between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2018 under French coordination within an international partnership. The consortium brought together organisations from France, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Italy, and Hungary, including Trebag Ltd.

During the project, the partners mapped existing educational approaches and awareness-raising practices related to the energy transition. Building on this research, they developed a comprehensive educational programme and an innovative learning toolkit. As part of these activities, the partnership created 30 interactive learning tools together with supporting methodological materials designed to facilitate education and public awareness on sustainable energy topics.

The project placed particular emphasis on strengthening the capacities of civil society organisations, local authorities, and educational institutions, while encouraging the exchange of good practices at European level. The project also included pilot testing activities, an online platform, educational videos, and a series of dissemination events to maximise the impact of its results.

The outcomes of the C4ET project contribute to raising environmental awareness, improving citizens’ understanding of the energy transition, and making knowledge about sustainable energy more accessible across Europe, thereby encouraging more active public participation in achieving Europe’s climate and energy goals.
