The Social Innovation Training for Virtual Work-Based Learning (Coop-in) Erasmus+ project aimed to promote the application of social innovation within workplace learning and vocational education and training (VET). The project was based on the recognition that social innovation can create significant added value not only in the non-profit sector but also in business environments and workplace collaboration.

The project was implemented between 15 October 2017 and 14 October 2019 under United Kingdom coordinationwithin an international partnership. The consortium brought together organisations from Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Ireland, and Hungary, including Trebag Ltd.

At the heart of the project was the development of a comprehensive social innovation training package designed primarily for corporate VET trainers, workplace mentors, and consultants. The partnership developed a multilingual online learning platform, blended learning materials, self-assessment tools, and practical methodologies to support collaboration and the implementation of social innovation in professional settings.

The project placed particular emphasis on gamificationmicrolearning, and scenario-based learning, recognising their potential to increase learner engagement and strengthen practical skills development. These innovative learning approaches help participants apply social innovation concepts in real workplace situations while encouraging collaboration and creative problem-solving.

The project’s outputs contribute to a broader understanding of social innovation and strengthen cooperation between businesses, vocational education providers, and educational institutions across Europe, fostering more innovative, collaborative, and socially responsible working environments.
